Floor tiling
Living rooms, bedrooms and drawing rooms, laid flat and level.
Wall and floor tiling with proper waterproofing underneath.
Almost every bathroom that leaks was tiled by someone who skipped the waterproofing. Tiles and grout are not waterproof — water passes through grout lines, sits in the bed underneath, and eventually shows up as a damp patch on the other side of the wall or on the ceiling below.
We apply a waterproof membrane across the floor and up the walls in the wet zone before any tile goes down, with extra attention at the corners and where pipes penetrate the surface, because those junctions are where failures actually start.
The floor is laid with a deliberate fall towards the drain so water leaves instead of pooling, and we test it with water before grouting rather than after, when fixing it would mean lifting the tiles again.
Because tiles are not the waterproof layer — the membrane underneath is. If it was skipped or applied badly at the corners, water travels through the grout and into the structure while the surface still looks perfect.
We offer it. It costs more and takes longer to apply, but it does not stain or absorb water the way cement grout does, which is worth it in a shower area or a bathroom used by a full family.
Usually three to four days for a full bathroom — waterproofing needs curing time, and rushing that is exactly what causes the leaks we get called to fix.
