Floor tiling
Living rooms, bedrooms and drawing rooms, laid flat and level.
Exterior wall cladding tiles that hold up to sun and rain.
The front elevation is the one part of your house everyone sees without being invited in, and it takes the hardest weather — direct sun most of the year, then monsoon rain driving straight at it.
Exterior cladding cannot be fixed the same way as an interior wall. Vertical surfaces need full adhesive coverage behind each tile, not dabs at the corners; a tile fixed on dabs traps water behind it, and that water is what pushes it off the wall two summers later.
We use exterior-grade adhesive rated for the temperature swing, leave proper movement joints across large runs so the wall can expand without cracking, and finish edges and corners with mitred cuts rather than plastic trims that go brittle and yellow in the sun.
Good exterior-grade porcelain and natural stone hold their colour for years. Cheap glazed interior tiles used outside will fade and craze — we will tell you which category a tile you have picked falls into before you buy it.
Almost always because they were fixed with adhesive dabs instead of full coverage, or with interior-grade adhesive. Water gets behind, freezes or expands in heat, and pushes the tile off the wall.
