Floor tiling
Living rooms, bedrooms and drawing rooms, laid flat and level.
Step and riser tiling with proper edge finishing.
Stairs are the hardest tiling job in a house to do well, because every error is multiplied. If one step ends up 10mm taller than the rest, people trip on it — the body counts steps by feel, not by looking.
We measure the total rise and divide it evenly across the flight before laying anything, adjusting the bed thickness step by step so every tread ends up the same height rather than letting the error accumulate to the top.
Tread edges get a mitred nosing or a bullnose tile so there is no sharp exposed edge, and we fit anti-slip nosing strips where there are children or elderly family members in the house.
Because the step heights are unequal — usually the result of tiling the steps one at a time instead of setting out the whole flight first. It is a trip hazard and it is avoidable.
Yes. That is a small job on its own and worth doing if you have young children or elderly parents using the stairs.
